Overview

Olson Group staff supported the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Emergency Management Institute (EMI) in the revision of online Independent Study curriculum, and the development of the U.S. DHS‐approved emergency management instructor-led courses. These courses are representatives of National Preparedness training subject matter (NIMS, ICS, EOC, etc.) and will be delivered to diverse groups of students representing first response and non‐traditional response agencies.

Phase 1 included the attendance at focus groups in which Olson Group staff, serving as SMEs, the review of the curriculum and suggest changes to the old curriculum.

Phase 2 assisted with the instructional design and development of existing and new courses based on the outcome of the focus group.

Phase 3 was the final review of the updated and newly developed curriculum.
