The Olson Group, Ltd. (OGL) designed, conducted, and evaluated a tabletop exercise focusing on hurricane response and recovery activities at Delaware State University (DSU) in Dover, Delaware in 2013. The exercise provided an opportunity for university personnel and leadership to discuss and evaluate plans and capabilities for responding to and handling a significant hurricane in Dover. Participants in the tabletop exercise identified areas of vulnerability, which were used to revise plans and strengthen capabilities. OGL is currently leading the design and planning of an exercise series at DSU focusing on an active shooter scenario, including a tabletop exercise and follow-up functional, both to be held later in 2015. The exercises will assess the University’s Emergency Procedures Guide and readiness for responding to an active shooter on campus.
OGL led the design, planning, and conduct of a tabletop exercise for the University of Delaware (UD) in Newark, Delaware focusing on recovery after a mass casualty incident. The exercise was an opportunity for university personnel to discuss the recovery from a major incident in Newark in coordination with local and state response personnel.
OGL followed Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) guidance in the design, development and conduct of these exercises.
