Alicia Jones is an experienced emergency management coordinator with facilitator, workshop design, and planning experience working with the local, state, federal government, private sector, and Institutes of Higher Education. Her first assignment with OGL was providing support for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) in Region 7. Ms. Jones also served as the lead evaluator for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Cybersecurity Tabletop Exercise.
Ms. Jones participated in the first 2019 Safe School Initiative Project (Full Scale Exercise Series/Active Shooter Exercise) for the District of Columbia Public Schools as a secondary point of contact and evaluator. Ms. Jones worked as part of the planning team in implementing the DC School Emergency Response Plan and Management Guide for the exercise series. Ms. Jones also has experience providing SERT Training to several school leaders in the District. She also has experience with developing and constructing emergency operation plans and Continuity of Operations Plans.
Ms. Jones has also served as a public safety policy analyst and provided support for the Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan (SCIP) Program as a workshop facilitator. Ms. Jones participated in a series of meetings to support federal, state, local, and tribal public safety emergency communications stakeholder SCIP workshops. As a facilitator for the SCIP workshops, Ms. Jones provided deliverables to meet state-specific needs, including scoping, analyzing, monitoring, drafting, and editing materials in preparation for assigned states and territories. She also provided support for the workshops by developing presentations to utilize during webinars, planning calls, and in-person workshops.
