The Olson Group partnered with Arlington County Government (ACG) and Arlington Public Schools (APS) to design, facilitate, and evaluate a comprehensive Active Violence Incident (AVI) Full-Scale Exercise focused on coordinated response and large-scale student reunification operations.
This multi-agency exercise evaluated response integration between APS, Arlington County Police Department, Fire/EMS, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC), emergency management personnel, and behavioral health partners. A major component of the exercise tested APS’ Reunification Plan, including activation of the APS Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at Wakefield High School and the coordinated reunification of impacted students with their guardians following a simulated active shooter incident.
